Practices Team managers will be notified of the dates available for practices. Practices are booked on a first come first serve basis. Your team registration includes three practice sessions. Each team participant must practice at least 2 out of the 3 assigned team practices. The first practice should be considered mandatory - this is with a coach who gives specifics about the technique and course. The steerperson must be at all three practices. Each Dragon Boat team will practice and race with a full team of 22 participants per boat (including 1 drummer and 1 steerperson). A team may practice or race with a minimum of sixteen (16) paddlers per boat plus 1 steerperson. Teams may register in the following categories; Mixed Recreational, Mixed Competitive and All-Female. All sessions that are cancelled due to bad weather will be rescheduled, time permitting. Exceptions will be considered by the Festival Race Committee.
Steerperson training Steerperson training will take place during the practice sessions booked by the team. Steerperson must attend all three (3) practices.
